The 5th Edition

Five steps, one horizon

Summary

The fifth edition of our project was carried out under the “Five Steps, one horizon” slogan and focused most heavily on the matters of trade, the functioning of enterprises and how European Union’s legal structures regulate trade. The opening ceremony of WBF’s 2018 edition was graced by the presence of Tadeusz Chomiczki himself – the ambassador of Poland to the People’s Republic of China.

Events organized with the cooperation of PwC, Linklaters or SDZLegal Schindhelm, just to name a few, have enabled the project’s participants to broaden their understanding of the intricacies of working with Chinese entrepreneurs, as well as hear about their expectations and prognoses regarding the foreseeable economic future. Furthermore, thanks to the visit to the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Poland, as well as the ICBC, the students had a chance to explore the subject of trade between Poland and China at the hands of professionals who handle these matters on a daily basis.

The Beijing part was filled with a variety of meetings and lectures. The participants had the opportunity to visit the Polish Embassy in Beijing as well as the Denton’s headquarters, KING & WOOD MALLESONS and the People’s Supreme Court. This memorable trip was further enriched by a series of workshops taking place in Hong Kong, organized by the CMS and Clifford Chance law firms.
