ABOUT WBF 2016
The third edition of the Warsaw-Beijing Forum: Youth for Business is held under one main idea: „The Eurasian Dream”. Our ambition, as the organisers, has not changed for the last three years: we aim to exchange the opinions and create multi-level cooperation in business, culture and academic fields. The Forum is an initiative oriented on promoting entrepreneurship, mobility and multinational cooperation between young professionals from Poland and China. Our uttermost motivation is to broaden the awareness of students and professionals on the trade and cultural exchange between Poland and the Middle Kingdom.

This year’s main idea is directly connected with the changing landscape of Chinese-European relations. The idea of One Belt One Road, as a concept of creating a direct route for the exchange of goods both by land and by sea is a huge step on the way to closer economic partnership. President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda visited China in November 2015. In April 2016, the Polish Minister of Foreign Affairs declared during his visit in China that Poland is ready to broaden the cooperation and to support the flow of not only goods, but services and ideas between the countries. It is worth mentioning that Polish application to participate in the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank has been officially fully accepted. This means that, by now, Poland is the only country in the Central and Eastern Europe that fulfills the criteria of the membership. In the light of those events, “The Eurasian Dream” has a real chance of coming true.

To establish even stronger links between Poland and China, 16 students from China University of Political Science and Law will come to Warsaw to get to know Poland better. We proudly announce that the Participants of the Forum will have an honour of meeting with the President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda. This is a highly prestigious distinction for us.

The Warsaw Part of the Forum will commence with an official opening conference that will take place in a historic Column Hall of the Faculty of History of the University of Warsaw. The guests of the conference will not only be the participants of the Forum and our guests from China, but also the Ministers of Development and of Foreign Affairs, Ambassadors of the Republic of Poland to China, heads of the University of Warsaw, our sponsors and partners. The conference will also be enhanced by the Choir of the University of Warsaw.

Our guests from China will also get a chance to broaden their knowledge of Polish culture and take part in workshops, lectures and case studies prepared by experts. Among other activities, they will go to Łowicz to see one of the most modern dairies in Poland and learn more about this branch of Polish economy. They will gain access to the National Bank of Poland, where they will see the newly created Centre of Money, a multimedial museum of various means of payment, and hear a lecture on micro and macroeconomics and the perspectives for the development of Poland. Furthermore, the Participants will also visit the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where they will learn more about the diplomatic affairs and the efforts to enhance the Polish-Chinese relations. An event open to the public will also be held on the 24th of May, which will be a debate by acclaimed experts on the topic: “Is the EU going to grant the market economy status to China?”.

This will be a busy and eventful week, packed with meetings, experiences, learning and discussions on Polish-Chinese relations. We would like to once again thank all the partners and sponsors, thanks to whom we can bring the Forum into life and make it even greater every year.
